Website Design Proposal For Tallaght Sports Complex
Introduction
Your company needs a digital presence in this digital world.
A good website can exponentially increase your reach, while working for you
24/7, virtually for free.
Websites also give you the benefit of a professional business email, and let you
take control over your customer communication through blogs, knowledge
bases, and contact pages.
However, a bad website can give the impression of an unprofessional
company, one that cannot keep up with the current technology, or one that
doesn’t care enough about its image. Your website should also be continuously
updated to show your clients the information they need today, and to keep
them coming for more.
It’s not just a matter of creating a website; it’s a matter of creating the right
website.
Your Needs
I feel that Tallaght Sports Complex needs to be mainly an information website.
As the information is on the website this means that most of the time the
public don’t need to call which means it saves time for the staff.
Brand Awareness
I feel that a good website needs a good logo design, so I propose that I will
come up with a designed logo. I will use colours as well as logo to convey the
idea behind Tallaght Sports Complex,
I will also design the website around the colours of the logo and each page will
be the same layout format with the simple structure of a Head, Body and
footer. Logo will be on the head part on each page.
The Tallaght Sports Complex website needs to be easy to navigate , It also
needs to be pleasing to the eye. We are heading in to a new area in web
design where before most website were on desktop computers now it’s
changed, most websites are now accessed through mobile and tablet devices.
It’s my advice that Tallaght Sports Complex should be accessed though both.
The Structure of the Website
The Tallaght Sports Complex will have on each page the following buttons
Home, About us, Clubs, Bookings and Contact us.
As regards the Clubs I think that there should be sub links. This would include
the following pages, Tallaght Swim Team, Tallaght Masters Club, Dolphin Club
etc…
These club pages will include about the club, contact details, mobile number
emails and some images of the club. (Mini website in a main website)
I believe that Tallaght Sports Complex should be a portal to the clubs that use
the complex.
I look at this website as a community website that is there for information
regarding activates in the complex.
After being closed for a number of months due to covid, I see this opportunity
as a reset, but we can never forget the people that have gone either.
Taking into account of the last person that designed the website I think it
would be a fitting thing to have a page in memory of him. We can also have a
page for Marian is well, with the agreement of both families
Our Process
1. Storyboarding, this includes working on sketches and design concepts
for example logos and web design layout.
2. Wireframes: this is a graphic that pin points the layout components for
the website and therefore gives you an good idea of how it will look.
There will be no graphics just boxes and will mainly demonstrate the
basic layout.
3. Graphic Layout image: This is a graphic layout that will show what the
website may look like; this idea will be polished before I start to build it.
4. Web design: I will be looking at the following things the structure of the
website how the navigation menu works on pc, tablet and mobile.
Styling the website so it looks different, this will be done using CSS
(Cascading Style Sheets)
Word Press
I propose to use word press as it allows the user to add new post and keep the
website alive instead of it being static.
Portfolio
Domain Names and Hosting
Hosting : Hosting is free for the first year after the year is over it will be 100
euros yearly. Domain names could differ in price as it’s out of my control.
We provide a hosting servicing using CPanel this means that any issues that
may arise we can resolve easily.
Register the right Domain Name
I did a bit of research and I found out that the shorter the domain name the
more easy it will be to remember. That’s why I think the best course of action
is to use a short domain name. I looked at the following TSC.ie and it is not
taken.
